This book contains the full text of Le Roman du Lievre in both French and English (as translated by Gladys Edgerton,) biographical information about the French poet Francis Jammes, Le Roman du Lievre’s author, images and text regarding Saint Francis of Assisi and factual information about the differences between rabbits and hares, all in the form of specific web addresses. In a sense it records James Riordan’s initial research into Le Roman du Lievre. More importantly, as a hand bound, type set collection of web addresses, each very specific and relatively temporal in nature, it pokes fun at and makes comment on the changing role of the book in light of the internets growing dominance as point of reference and container of information. Bodoni, the font it is set in, was chosen specifically for its own complicated relationship to digital typography, noted in the links on the final page.

This book was printed in an edition of 50. Each copy hand bound employing either the Coptic stitch or traditional cord binding. Goatskin, Moroccan Swede, and rabbit fur are a few examples of the different materials used as covering.
